35 Weeks!

35-weeks

Sunday marked 35 weeks and exactly 1 month till Griffin should make his appearance! I'll be honest, after I looked at this picture Cody took, I stopped and said "Whoa!" The belly has certainly been growing in the last few weeks!

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, most of Griffin's basic physical developments are now complete! At our  high risk doctor's appointment yesterday they said that he's around 18 inches long and 5 lbs 9 oz!

Symptoms: -    My normal OB checked me yesterday and I am 50% effaced and dilated to a 1. Um, yeah! Hearing that news makes me freak out and want to run around like a crazy lady, packing a bag for the hospital, deep cleaning the house, installing the car seat base and making sure everything is ready to go in the next 24 hours because SURELY THIS BABY IS ABOUT TO COME!!!

But then, I think realistically and know that my co-worker was dilated to a 1 for at least 3 weeks and I calm down, sit down on the couch and forget about freaking out and accomplishing that list.  I am experiencing more contractions as the days go on. While they haven't been closer than 45 minutes apart, they are definitely getting stronger and I am feeling the pressure move lower.  {which cues another freak out.} So, does the have contraction/freak out/calm down/be lazy cycle count as a symptom? :)

Cravings/Aversions: - No major cravings this week.

Maternity Clothes: - My wardrobe is a rather eclectic mix of maternity clothes and regular dresses and shirts that still fit. I keep waiting for something embarrassing to happen {maybe somehow baring the belly due to a short shirt?!?} when I wear normal clothes, but I still keep chancing fate every time!

Sleep: - Sleeping mostly good, just really tired of only being able to sleep on my sides. Laying on my belly to fall asleep sounds like heaven most night!

Funniest Dream Of This Week: - Two nights ago all of my dreams revolved around food. I think this had more to do with the fact that I had something cooking overnight in the crockpot and not a result of my pregnancy!

Highlights Of This Week: - Well, knowing that my body is doing what it is naturally supposed to be doing and progressing is a pretty big highlight. Plus, we did find out that Griffin is still head down, which is a relief after my rough weekend.

- I was also able to get some baby laundry done this weekend and get it organized in the nursery.  Anything in tiny, baby size is instantly adorable!

Looking forward to: another shower this weekend! Our Sunday School class is blessing us this weekend and I'm excited to celebrate with them!  Plus my mom is coming into town for a few days, which is always fun!

And just for fun, a co-worker brought some cantaloupe to work this week and I thought I would use it as an opportunity to show you what's going on in my belly:

comparison

Yep, that's basically the size of the fibroid that is on the left side of my uterus and the weight of Griffin, even though he's really a little bit longer. Kinda makes my belly look not quite as big, right?!
