Help A Sister Out.

in just a couple of weeks, i will be enjoying this:

beaches

{tough life, i know}

one of my favorite things about vacation is lying by the pool and devouring books.

i'm not joking or bragging when i use the word devouring. i'm a fast reader and have made it through at least 6 books, if not more, on previous week long trips.

so, in order to prepare for the trip, i need some help.

what are some must read books that i need to get on my kindle for lounging by the pool?

here are some i have recently read or already have for the trip:
the hunger games trilogy
the girl with the dragoon tattoo series
water for elephants
the help
something borrowed series
mostly everything by karen kingsbury

hit me with your best reads peeps!

(and thanks for helping a sister out!)

  1. I recently started on the mark of the line series by Francine Rivers. Big books, but I can't put them down. So good and amazing writing! Enjoy your vacation! Jealous !:)

  2. As a fellow book lover, kindle owner, and reader of all of the above books (except for the dragon tattoo series) I'd love to give you a couple of suggestions! (and if you haven't read The Help yet but have it for your trip - read it first!)

As the above commenter recommended, the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers are possibly my favorite books. ever. As is her book Redeeming Love. Read them.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Ann Shaffer was my favorite read of 2010. Weird title I know, but it's such a good read!

No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency books by Alexander McCall Smith. Easy reads and there's like 12 of them.

If you want to completely mix it up, I also really liked Dan Brown's Deception Point and Michael Crichton's State of Fear.

  5. Some of these may be ones that I've suggested before but it's just because I love them so :)

Love Walked In (and) Belong To Me, by Marisa de los Santos- These are two of my most favorite books EVER. Read them in the order I listed, SO GOOD.

The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder, by Rebecca Wells- I like this as much as Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, it's a little lighter, magical, heartwarming, romantic...everything you need for a summer read.

Anything by Jennifer Weiner but I've especially enjoyed Little Earthquakes and Good In Bed (shocking title, I know, but it's really good)

If you like Mark of the Lion and want to get into some more historical fiction, I loooooove The Zion Covenant series by Brock and Bodie Thoene

Have you ever read any of the Sweet Potato Queen stuff by Jill Conner Browne? HILARIOUS. I'm taking The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love with me to the beach to reread. It's perfection. You'll be reading sections aloud to your family before you know it! I also peed my pants laughed through The Sweet Potato Queens 1st Big-A$$ Novel as well.

Ok, that's all I've got! Hope I helped you find something that might work :)
