Oh Bamps.

Abby, your hair.

For as long as I can remember, this phrase has been a constant in my life. It didn't necessarily matter what my hair actually looked like. Most of the time the comment came on my best hair days, but the commenter always like to give me a hard time about it.

 This morning I woke up and laughed because the phrase certainly applied to me:

{gotta love that one lock that decided to stick out all on it's own! please excuses my looks. my traveling this week plum wore me out and I ended up sick and stayed home today. thus you see my au natural beauty!}

Bamps, my grandfather, has always loved to give me a hard time about my hair. Thankfully, he's a smart enough man to only say it on the good hair days and not the bad! I've learned some great life lessons through Bamps, including the following:

-Any time you're out eating, you gotta make sure every one's following Rule #2.
      What's Rule #2? You can get whatever you want, but you better eat it all!

- TCBB. This Costs Big Bucks!
       or as we like to say, TCBBB. This Costs Bamps Big Bucks!
{this one mostly applies to TCBY ice cream that my grandparents used to always treat us to on the way to Ruidosa, but can apply to most situations these days!}

-What's your time worth?
       in all of my business endeavors, Bamps is always making sure I know how much time I'm putting into things so I can make sure I'm making my money back. Sometimes he's a little biased on my worth, but it's still a good lesson!

The biggest thing I've learned from Bamps and the reason he's probably so proud of me is:

When you get a good deal, buy in bulk!
      which is the reason my deep freeze looks like this:

just to give you a better idea of what we're working with:

{that's at least six rolls of garlic bread, three cake mixes and 5 things of chocolate chips}

{here we have about 25 lbs of pork chops I got on sale}

{and finally, 4 casseroles that I made in bulk}

What can I say? I know a good deal when I see one and I like to make my family proud!
{No telling how long it will actually take the two of us to go through all of these items... it's all about saving the money!}

In all seriousness, Bamps has made a huge impact on me and is such an important person in our life. Right now he's going through some issues with his heart and will be having a heart cath Friday around 4 pm so they can figure out what exactly is going on. My family would so greatly appreciate your prayers that everything goes smoothly and that the doctors can figure out exactly what is going on and how they can fix it.

Thank you so much for praying with us. It really does mean the world... and I would love to offer you a loaf of garlic bread as a sign of my gratitude!
