Hat Ham Sandwiches

photo.JPG

Here's another recipe my mom made to help me out during these first few weeks as we're adjusting to our new family of three. While I didn't  prepare these, they remind me a lot of the Hawaiian Sandwiches, which I have made. These are more hearty and are great to have on hand for a quick dinner, but would also work well if you were hosting several friends over. Serve with a fresh spinach salad {or pull out a bag of chips if it's not for company!} and a glass of sweet tea and you're all set!

Hot Ham Sandwiches
12 Kaiser rolls, split
1 8 oz. tub butter
2 Tbs. poppy seeds
4 Tbs. chives
4 Tbs. prepared mustard
2-3 lbs ham, sliced very thin
24 slices swiss cheese

Mix butter, seeds, chives & mustard. Spread on buns. Place slice of cheese on each side of bun and ham in the middle. Wrap in heavy foil and either freeze or bake. Bake 375 for 20 minutes if thawed and 45 if frozen.

{just a note, if I were making these for a dinner party, I would probably leave out the poppy seeds because I'm a crazy person and I have issues about food in my teeth. You might be a little more sane than me and just make sure you have floss on hand!}
