well it has finally arrived.

travel season is here and is now in full swing, or as full swing as it can be after 3 days.

i left monday to head to the dfw area, and my trip has definitely had some interesting aspects to it. when i checked into my first hotel, i overheard that there were only 3 rooms left because of ike. the girls at the front desk took their slow sweet time in getting me my room, so i finally go park the car, load myself up with bags, and begin a long walk to my room. if you know me, you know my slow bladder so i was dying to get to a toilet. i walk into my room, and think, "wow, what a nice lq. dang, they have a lot of food stocked in here. how come the desk looks used? why are there shorts hanging out that door?!?!?!"

yep, they had given me the keys to someone else's room. thankfully they weren't in there, and i had to go back down the long hall, talk to the front desk again, wait as they argued about how the girl gave me the wrong room, and then finally had to walk down the long hall to my room.

this morning, in a different lq, the bill that they put under my door was for a different preson. so i took it to the front desk, and they didn't have record of me being in the room i'm in. sweet. lq, you are not starting this season off on the right foot. at least i'm earning points so the hubby and i can have a free night in a hotel. and i'm enjoying cable now. woo hoo.

its interesting to be back in the high school scene. i've already noticed that i will walk a fine line over the next 3 months... between observing and making judgments. i'm trying to decipher how to observe and not turn critical of someone, but its hard to do. some of the clothes i have seen already are unbelievable. i was embarrassed for the guy recruiter standing next to me, because one girl revealed way too much as she leaned over to fill out the info card. its hard to not think things about a person when they're willing to lay it all out.

i read this yesterday afternoon:

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

that's my goal for myself right now, no matter how i am treated or what is said to me.

i'm off to get ready for another fair. more later....
