TATT!

TuesdaysAtTheTable

This is my first week posting with Tuesdays at the Table. I've loved looking at the recipes but haven't ever had much to share. I found a great recipe last night and knew it would be perfect for today!

Thanks for Andrea from My Chihuahua Bites and Cole from All the Small Stuff for hosting TATT for us!

Angel Hair Pasta Primavera

I went to the grocery store with the intention of getting supplies for spaghetti, but I saw this recipe on the back of the pasta box and knew I needed to try it!

Here is the ingredient list from the back of the package:

Roughly 6-7 oz whole wheat angel hair pasta (I used half of the 13.5 oz box)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 clove garlic (I used the jar of minced garlic!)

2 medium size tomatoes

3 mushrooms

½ C water from the pasta

Fresh basil

2 tbsp Worchester sauce

Parmesan Cheese

Salt and Pepper

Here's my confession: My measuring spoons were dirty, I had small tomatoes on hand, and pre-cut up mushrooms. So instead of measuring this precisely like I normally would have, I just guessed at how much to put in and it still turned out good. So take the measurements loosely, ok?

Cook the noodles according to the package or using your own cooking skills. Sadly I still read the package, as I've messed up a lot of pasta. Once the pasta is cooked, save ½ C of the water for the sauce, drain the rest of the water off and set the noodles on the side for later.

In a skillet, heat up the olive oil. Once it's warm, add the garlic, basil, tomatoes and mushrooms and let sauté for at least 2 minutes. After these are done, add the water, Worchester sauce and noodles. Stir to mix up the noodles in the sauce and then let simmer uncovered for a little bit. After the noodles have simmered for a little while, spoon into individual bowls, salt and pepper to taste, and top with parmesan cheese. Serve with garlic Texas toast, and viola, and easy pasta dinner!

Seriously, the longest part of cooking this was waiting for the water to boil for the pasta! My husband Cody so lovingly reminded me as I was cooking that the measurements were meant for a full box of pasta and I only used half the box. I went ahead and cooked the sauce to (roughly) the measurements it gave, and Cody and I both agreed that next time I cook it could definitely use more of everything. So take that into consideration, but have fun tweaking this recipe!

Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

  1. So, I see the title of this post in my Google reader & for a second (ok, for more like about 10 seconds), I opened my mouth in shock & said to myself, "Holy Crap! Abby's either gotten or is getting a tattoo!" Imagine my real shock when I read the actual blog entry. Hope that gives you a good laugh at my expense :-)

  4. Yikes- it's so complicated! My dad got an instructional video from Buddy Rhodes (a concrete company) that has amazing tutorials. I would recommend looking into that.
